Case studies

Work

Some of these cases rebuild client work with a fictional company and data, because a confidentiality agreement (NDA) covers the originals. The rest are systems I built and run myself.

Work: all entries

How I rolled out AI to a small firm without losing control of client data

I wrote the rollout plan and built the vetting process, the risk tiers, the shared skills library and a deck generator for staff. I governed the rollout throughout.

Client work (reconstructed)I built the vetting process, tiers, skills library and rollout plan for a small advisory firm.
My own workI use AI tools daily under a documented review process, on infrastructure I run myself.

How I turned recorded sessions into a self-serve course, with a check at every gate

I built a repeatable production line that turns source material into interactive H5P lessons and quizzes for the learning platform (LMS). The subject expert signs off at four points, and every build passes three quality checks before a learner sees it.

Client work (reconstructed)I rebuilt a leadership course from recorded sessions into H5P lessons and LMS quizzes.
My own workFour interactive activities I rebuilt for this site, with interaction types I wrote myself. Play them or download them.

How I choose middleware without guessing

I turn a department's pain point into a shortlist with conditions. The sources are logged, dated and hashed.

reconstruction integration researchrequirementsvendor evaluation
Client work (reconstructed)I did the integration and middleware research that went into a shortlist.
My own workThe same research stack runs on my lab: a self-hosted crawler, browser automation and a workflow engine.

A contact form that reaches my phone without exposing my servers

I built a workflow on my lab that fetches site enquiries, filters them and sends them to my phone and a log file. It needs no inbound webhook on the lab. I tested it; it goes live with the site.

workflow automationsecurity by designtesting
At workThe same pattern fits a small firm: leads from a website into the tools staff already watch.
My own workI built it on my lab and tested it against a mock; it switches on when this site goes live.

How I measured search visibility when the search engines pushed back

I built a repeatable benchmark across three search engines. It turned a vague 'are we findable?' into a scored list of gaps and the page changes I recommended to close them.

Client work (reconstructed)A 318-query bank over seven iterations and three engines, with no paid SEO tools.
My own workThe crawler and the browser automation run on my own lab and are reused for my other research.

A browser desktop I built to production standards

A windowed desktop in plain JavaScript, with no framework. It has deep links, lazy-loaded apps, accessibility fallbacks, 735 automated checks, and a benchmark of 18 open windows at 60 fps.

At workI bring the same discipline to client front ends: tested routes, fallbacks and measured performance.
My own work (live)I built my creative site as a desktop environment. The engineering is what this case shows.
